The history of the Detroit Water Department

Mr. Barnett will present an historical overview of the Detroit Water Department and provide a brief discussion of security protocols that are established to protect the system to ensure safe drinking water to our communities.

About the speaker

Mr. Barnett Jones has over 40 years of professional Law Enforcement experience. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University’s School of Staff and Command Executive Law Enforcement Training, and the United States Secret Service Dignitary Protection Academy. Chief Barnett Jones served as a law enforcement officer in multi-dimensional capacities ranging from a line officer, up to an including the role of a county wide policing agency’s chief law enforcement divisional administrator, and cresting as the Chief / Administrator of Police, Fire, or Public Safety for multiple cities. Barnett Jones education also includes a Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University, a Bachelors’ Degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, an Associate’s Degree from Henry Ford College and he is a State certified fire-fighter.
