Jason Grobbel is Owner and President of E.W. Grobbel Sons, Inc. (Grobbel’s United Meat & Deli), America’s Oldest Corned Beef Specialist, located in Detroit’s historic Eastern Market.
Grobbel’s is a family business founded by his great grandfather, Emil W. Grobbel in 1883. Jason began working in the business at an early age, and is currently the 4th generation owner. Grobbel’s is among the largest Corned Beef processors in the nation, with national distribution to major supermarket chains and restaurant distributors.
A lifetime resident of S.E. Michigan, Jason graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School. He attended Michigan State University, then graduated from Kalamazoo College with a BA, majoring in Economics and Business Administration.
Jason has been an active member of The Detroit Rotary Club since 1986. Has served as past president, and currently resides as head chair of the Foundation Drive committee, responsible for raising funds for the many worthwhile programs sponsored by the club. In addition, serves on the Eastern Market Corporation Board of Directors, whose main focus is to enhance the attraction and make the Eastern Market the undisputed center for fresh and nutritious food in southeast Michigan. Jason has served on committees for Forgotten Harvest, a food rescue organization. He is also a partner and corporate contributor to Cornerstone Schools in Detroit.
He is a father of 5 children. The oldest of which, Samantha, works at Grobbel’s as Brand Coordinator, representing the 5th Generation.
