Murray Davis joined Vehicles for Change – Detroit in January, 2017. As the development officer for the Detroit operations, he is responsible for fund raising, grant writing, creating partnerships with local companies, events development, marketing and advertising for car donations, etc. and building exposure of Vehicles for Change-Detroit. Previously he served as information resources manager and grant writer with Matrix Human Services, a social service non-profit based in Detroit, Michigan. Murray has also previously served as founder and executive director of Dads & Moms of Michigan, a non-profit working on behalf of parents and their children in that state in the early 2000s. During these years of service, he was appointed to several state level committees by the then Michigan governor and the chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.
Prior to his duties at non-profit organizations, Murray had accumulated vast experience in marketing and sales management with the IBM Corporation. His responsibilities with Vehicles for Change-Detroit include creating partnerships with local companies, fundraising, grant writing, events development, marketing and advertising for car donations and all other duties that build exposure for Vehicles for Change-Detroit.
Murray earned a B.S. degree in general science/electrical engineering from Seattle University and a M.A. in social justice from Marygrove College along with credentials from the National Anger Management Association. He is an U.S. Air Force veteran, a life member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and a member of the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe.
